Buy Geek Campaign

We know Crazy Like That isn’t everyone’s style of geek. That’s alright. We’re used to not being the first pick for the team. While the lot of us share characteristics like intelligence, every geek is unique. Those differences are a good thing and need to be embraced.

The economy’s been rough this last year, but geeks have been stepping up to the plate and starting new small businesses. You have been coming up with iPhone applications and Twitter utilities, writing music, inventing helpful gadgets, programming new games and, of course, making geek-centered clothing. There are too many types of geeks to list, but however you look at it, as a group, you’re trying innovative ways to make a better living and provide good things to the community.

We know we don’t catch everything new and we want to hear about other geeks making great products. If you see something incredibly geeky, please tweet about it using the #buygeek hash tag. Let other geeks know who’s looking to win their hard-earned dollars. We will be adding a “Suggest a Geek” link on CrazyLikeThat.com to collect your ideas and monitoring your #buygeek suggestions on Twitter.  As suggestions come in,  we’ll determine the biggest geeks, do research on them and post them to our blog.

Because Crazy Like That loves geeky t-shirts, we’re launching this campaign with a few great places that will help you slap some geek on your back. There are a number of great places to buy geek t-shirts and while we love them all, this post focuses on small businesses who have been around less than two years.

CapsUnlock T-shirts – Follow them as @CapsUnlock on Twitter. As you can tell by the name, CapsUnlock focuses on computer geekerie. They have a number of really fun t-shirts reasonably priced at around $15.

Geek Bouteek – Follow them as @GeekBouteek on Twitter. They are eclectic geeks. Checkout their X-Rated StarWars-inspired t-shirt. Prices range from around $10 – $16.

A note to companies we pimp: If you want a *small* logo (under 150×150) or more information about you and your particular brand of geek added to this post, DM us on Twitter @crazylikethat . We have a short questionnaire to collect all the touchy-feely information not typically found on websites.
