The service has the advantage of being able to save and later edit your chosen URL redirect, so it requires some sort of registration in the system. Also, the email registration tends to keep spammers OUT of this URL shortener system. I have only rarely sent out an email in the past year, and all were through Aweber, from which it is easy to unsubscribe. For simple, quick and unimportant URL shortening, another URL shrinker might be better, but for permanent short URLs that you can later edit, QiCute is a nice option. Finally, our URL shortener is part of a group of other web sites that endeavor to maintain our good reputation, so giving out email addresses is simply &quot;unthinkable&quot;.
